Sharing your relationship status on Facebook is optional. You choose who can see your relationship status on your profile by using the audience selector.
You can prevent relationship changes from being seen by anyone except you. This means the change won't show up in your friends' News Feeds.
While editing your profile under 'Family and Relationships', change the privacy filter to 'Only Me'
If you don't want anyone to be able to see your relationship status, use the audience selector and choose Only Me:

- From your profile, click About.
- Click Family and Relationships.
- Hover over the Relationship box and click Edit.
- Use the audience selector to choose Only Me.
- Click Save Changes.
Your partner may want to be able to share that they're in a relationship with you on their profile. They control who can see their relationship status on their profile.
If you confirm that you're in a relationship with them when they update their relationship status, the relationship may appear on their profile, depending on their settings.
