Life is full of unpredictable situations. Although we don't wish for it, things could happen within the twinkle of an eye and the right to make certain decisions could be taken out of your hands. Facebook foresaw this and decided to put up safety measures by bringing up the concept of Legacy contact. On Your Facebook Application:
- Tap on the menu button at the top right-hand of the page
- Scroll down and tap on "Account settings"
- On the pop-up screen, tap "General"
- On the pop-up screen, tap on "Manage account" to take you to Legacy contact and Deactivation settings.
- On the pop-up screen, tap on "Legacy Contact" to choose a family member or a close friend to care for your account if anything happens to you
- On the pop-up screen, tap on "Choose Legacy Contact"
- On the pop-up screen, tap on "Choose a friend"
- Type the name of the friend you want to set as your Legacy contact. Once you begin typing the friend's name, suggestions will come up, tap on the friend to add him/her as your Legacy contact.
- To let your friend know that he/she is now your legacy contact, scroll down and tap on "Send"
