Ghost profile friend request and liking content on Facebook

Ghost profile friend request and liking content on Facebook: My wife has received Facebook notification that someone had accepted a friend request that she did not send. This "new Facebook friend" has liked content but does not show up in her friend's list at all so there is no way to unfriend or block this "person". The profile also does not show up on Facebook when you search the name.
